Friedrich Alpers

Friedrich Alpers, 25 March 1901 – 3 September 1944, was a German Nazi politician, SA member, SS-Obergruppenführer, and his last position as a Fallschirmjager commander in the Luftwaffe before his death. He was also a Minister of the Free State of Brunswick, and Generalforstmeister (General forest supervisor). Alpers was responsible for numerous political crimes in Brunswick. Alpers committed suicide in 1944, while in US custody.

Bruno Sassen

Dr. med. vet. Bruno Sassen, 13 March 1918 – 19 June 2006, was a member of the Fallschirmjäger during World War II and recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. After the war, he studied veterinary medicine in Hanover.

Friedrich August Freiherr von der Heydte

Friedrich August Freiherr von der Heydte, 30 March 1907 – 7 July 1994, was a German paratroop officer during World War II who later served in the armed forces of West Germany, achieving the rank of General. Following the war, Heydte pursued academic, political and military career, as a Catholic-conservative professor of political science. In 1962, Heydte was involved in the Spiegel scandal.
